action

13-year-old Sarah comes from a socially disadvantaged family. She has sex with constantly changing partners until she meets a 16-year-old named Lukas and falls in love for the first time. The teenager, who comes from a middle-class background, exchanges self-made porn clips with minors for drugs. In the meantime, Sarah's best friend Charly notices that she is pregnant. She doesn't know by whom.

Reviews

“A verbally strongly sexualised, scenic but thoroughly cautious debut film, which revolves around unsatisfied love and life longings. The production alternates between youth drama and atmospherically accentuated generational frescoes, whereby no explanation is presented for the contradicting behavior of the young people. "

The Berliner Zeitung titled the film with "Sex without feeling and mind" and accused it of "lying patronage" and a "self-satisfied attitude".

According to Deutschlandradio Kultur , it is “the subtleties that make up his characters and their stories”.

At the television station n-tv it was said: “It's a bleak film” and “Director Christian Klandt and author Catrin Lüth welcome viewers to the porn generation”.

Production notes

Little Thirteen was the first graduation film of a directing student made by the film production company X Films Creative Pool (e.g. Good Bye, Lenin! ).

Director Klandt said he only wanted to make films that should be truthful. Little Thirteen should "ask questions".

The film was also released on DVD .

Awards

In 2012 Antonia Putiloff won the German Cinema New Talent Award - Best Performance at the Munich Film Festival for her role as Charly in Little Thirteen .
