Elisabeth Franziska Maria Karolina Ignatia, married Elisabeth Countess of Waldburg zu Zeil and Hohenems , (born January 27, 1892 in Vienna ; † January 29, 1930 in Syrgenstein Castle ) was born Archduchess of Austria and Princess of Tuscany .

Elisabeth Franziska, called Ella , was the first-born daughter of Archduke Franz Salvator of Austria-Tuscany and Archduchess Marie Valerie of Austria . Thus she was a granddaughter of Emperor Franz Joseph and Sisi , Empress Elisabeth of Austria , who was also her godmother. Your educator was Elsa Koehler . Elisabeth Franziska got engaged to Count Georg von Waldburg zu Zeil and Hohenems (1878–1955) on April 8, 1912 , whom she married on September 19, 1912 in Niederwallsee . From her marriage until she died, she lived in Syrgenstein in the Allgäu, where she also worked as a painter at times. She died of pneumonia at the age of 38. She was buried in Maria Thann in the Allgäu. On December 29, 1931, her widowed husband Georg married her sister Gertrud .

The collection of 33,000 individual objects belonging to the journalist and monarchist Raoul Korty (1889–1944), which was restituted by the ÖNB in ​​2005 and bought by the Austrian National Library at the owner's request , contains numerous photographs of the imperial family and thus also of Elisabeth Franziska. The collection was shown in April 2008 under the title In memory of more beautiful times - Pictures from the lost world by the Jewish collector Raoul Korty in the State Hall of the Austrian National Library . Among them was a photo of her grandfather with Elisabeth Franziska. The website Royal magazin mentions that a diadem from Marie Valerie of Austria was later worn by Elisabeth Franziska. Ella was at times referred to as the prettiest or one of the prettiest granddaughters of Empress Elisabeth. As a trousseau she was given a travel toilet set. The silver parts contained therein came from the purveyor to the court, Josef Carl Klinkosch , the glass objects were made by J. & L. Lobmeyr .
