José Maria Parreira Lara (born June 3, 1886 in Resende Costa , Minas Gerais , Brazil , † August 8, 1936 ) was Bishop of Caratinga .

Life

José Maria Parreira Lara received on 18 April 1911, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 27, 1924, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Amazonas . On December 18 of the same year he was appointed the first bishop of Santos . The Archbishop of Mariana , Helvécio Gomes de Oliveira SDB , donated him episcopal ordination on February 11, 1925 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Goiás , Emanuel Gomes de Oliveira SDB, and the Bishop of Espírito Santo , Benedito Paulo Alves de Souza .

Pope Pius XI appointed him on September 28, 1934 the first Bishop of Caratinga.
