The Diocese of Caratinga ( Latin Dioecesis Caratingensis , Portuguese Diocese de Caratinga ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Caratinga in the state of Minas Gerais .
history
The diocese Caratinga was on December 15, 1915 by Pope Benedict XV. established with the papal bull Pastorale Romani Pontificis officium from cession of territory of the diocese of Amazonas . On February 1, 1956, the Diocese of Caratinga were parts of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Constitution Rerum usu erected diocese Governador Valadares from.
The Diocese of Caratinga is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Mariana as a suffragan .
