Eric Till
Eric Till (born November 24, 1929 in London ) is a British director , producer and screenwriter who works in Canada, the United States and Europe.
In Germany he became known through his films Bonhoeffer - The Last Step and Luther .
Career
He first directed the Canadian television series Festival in 1960 . After directing The Wednesday Play (the episode: Pale Horse, Pale Rider ) and the Armchair Theater (the episode: The Gaming Book ) in England, he emigrated to Canada in 1954, the country where he probably made his film directing debut . Since then he has directed US-Canadian co-productions, such as An American Christmas Carol in 1979 , starring Henry Winkler , and in 1992 in Hunt the Killer with Brian Dennehy , who starred in the film as serial killer John Wayne Gacy plays. Other films he directed include: Bethune (1977), two TV feature films with the Muppets , namely The Christmas Toy (1986), The Muppets Celebrate Christmas (1987), and sixteen episodes of The Fraggles and The Millionending series (1986 ). With Bonhoeffer - The Last Step (2000) and Luther (2003) he also gained fame in Germany.
But Till not only confined to dramatic productions, Till also led to television recordings of the National Ballet of Canada ( National Ballet of Canada ), the Bolshoi Ballet and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and at the last concert of the famous conductor Sir Thomas Beecham Director.
Awards
In 2005 he received the Governor General's Award for Lifetime Achievement from Adrienne Clarkson .
In 2008 Till received the Director's Guild of Canada Lifetime Achievement Award (2008) .
