occupation

Mauerblümchen is a television film by Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk from the ARD crime series Tatort . It is the fifth case of the Leipzig investigator duo Saalfeld and Keppler , played by Simone Thomalla and Martin Wuttke , and was broadcast for the first time on March 8, 2009 on Das Erste .

action

Mayor Armin Lohmann is lying in his apartment with his throat slit. There are footprints that lead out of the house beyond the terrace. At first, the wife, Katrin Lohmann, looks suspicious, because her bed was untouched, there are visible traces of a female guest in the house and an act of jealousy is definitely possible. Overwhelmed by the whole process, she collapses and has to be taken to the hospital. A torn evening dress is found in the field in front of the Lohmanns' house. There are traces of blood on it matching those in Lohmann's house.

Lohmann's place of work is visited and the suspected building contractor Stefan Rose is arrested. He had threatened Lohmann in a letter to him because there were professional differences because of a building project. Saalfeld and Keppler visit the “Elster” hotel, where Lohmann had attended a conference the day before. The hotel owner Jörg Stein was not present that evening, but met Stefan Rose on his return. Stein had a strict regime in the hotel. For example, after a hotel theft, he simply dismissed all cleaning staff.

A taxi driver took two girls to the hospital because one of the girls, Alena Buranek, was seriously injured. She was little dressed and dies in the hospital as a result of her abuse and blood poisoning . Your DNA matches the traces of blood on the evening dress. According to the driver, they were Russian girls. The deceased worked in a "Rapid cleaning company" as a temporary worker and was last booked for the Hotel Elster. It was not known here that she possibly also worked as a prostitute. Lohmann's secretary, Sabine Teichert, had demonstrably forged the girls' work permits , which she did as a friendship for Ulrike Horn, the head of the cleaning company. The latter wanted to employ the foreign women legally, but also blackmailed them, so that in the end they had to work almost for nothing.

Keppler examines the crime scene in Lohmann's house again and suddenly meets Katrin Lohmann. She is dependent on pills and also fond of alcohol. She confesses that their marriage was no longer the best. Katrin Lohmann begins to remember that on the night of the crime a larger car - an off-road vehicle - stopped in front of the house. This brings the building contractor Rose under suspicion again. When asked, he confesses that he invited Lohmann for a nightcap in order to put him in a mild mood. He also paid the girl Alena for him; He didn't know that she was only 16. Suddenly, Alena reports to the police and confesses that she gave her papers to two young Russian women, Oxana and Duscha, so that they could work in Germany. She herself had managed to gain a foothold in Germany and in this way wanted to give other young girls a chance. The city is searched for Dusha because she is very likely the second girl and knows the killer and could be in danger.

During the investigation it turns out that the hotel owner Jörg Stein is no stranger to dealings with minors. So Saalfeld and Keppler find out that he had hidden Oxana and locked him up. Lohmann discovered it by chance, wanted to save the girl and had to pay for it with his life. Stein has meanwhile located Duscha and wants to kill her too, but Eva Saalfeld is there because she too had an idea where the girl could have been hiding. But Stein unceremoniously takes Duscha hostage, hides in an empty factory building and threatens to kill her. Keppler is able to overpower him and free Duscha.

Reviews

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv said about this thriller: “'Wallflower' is the best 'crime scene' of the new MDR team to date. Finally you have dared to venture out onto the streets of Leipzig. Johannes Fabrick relies on the sensuality of the scenes and on a realistic visual style, which the story of the underage Czech women who are coerced into prostitution also needs. "
