Maxim Mehmet (born July 2, 1975 in Kassel ) is a German actor .

Life

Maxim Mehmet grew up on a farm in Northern Hesse. His family name comes from his grandfather, a Crimean Tatar . He gained his first acting experience with his mother's puppet theater, later at school theater and some off-theater groups. He first studied theater studies in Berlin . It was not until he was 25 that he decided to study acting, which he completed with a diploma at the Konrad Wolf University of Film and Television (HFF) in Potsdam .

Leander Haussmann cast him in his 2005 military comedy NVA as NCO Aurich. In 2008 he played his first leading role in Meat Is My Vegetables (Director: Christian Görlitz ), a film adaptation of the autobiography of the author and musician Heinz Strunk .

Since 2008 Mehmet has been a forensic technician Wolfgang Menzel on the investigative team of the Leipzig crime scene episodes. In 2009 he was seen in the successful German film Men Hearts as the chaotic dreamer Philipp; also in the successor man's heart ... and the very, very big love he was there again. In Peter Timm's love comedy Liebe Mauer , he played the leading role alongside Felicitas Woll . In the ARD fairy tale film The Clever Farmer's Daughter , he played the king. He received another leading role alongside Charly Hübner in the psychodrama Unter Nachbarn , with which he was represented in the 2011 Shanghai International Film Festival competition . In 2015, he was awarded the Grimme Prize for portraying a publisher's son in the ARD television film Männertreu . In 2016 he played a tunneling engineer in the Gotthard two-part Advent show .

He briefly moved to Vienna in 2016 to rehearse the play Hom (m) e Alone in the Bronski & Grünberg theater. Maxim Mehmet lives in Berlin.
