A heavenly lazy angel is a German-Czech TV film by director Christoph Schnee from 2019 . The fairytale family film from the series A magical moment is based on a script by the author Silke Zertz and tells of the angel candidate Addi, played by Katharina Thalbach , who is sent down to earth against her will at Christmas for eleven-year-old Marie, played by Cloé Heinrich to help her grandmother regain her zest for life during a train ride.
The first broadcast in Germany was on December 26, 2019 on ZDF .

The angel candidate Addi 2 is sent to earth for Christmas to accompany eleven-year-old Marie on the trip to her grandmother. It is supposed to help the serious girl during the train journey to regain the childlike light-heartedness that she had lost after her mother's early accidental death. Addi, who has nothing in mind with the hectic pre-Christmas rush and with too much work, is reluctant to embark on this mission. Since Marie can't do anything with her companion's jokes either and prefers to do her homework quietly, Addi is preparing for a leisurely trip. But at the ticket inspection she does not find the tickets and the two have to get off at the next station. Her superior in heaven, the first secretary, sends her the tickets with the wind. Addi steals a car with which the two of them catch up with the train and so they can get back on.
The exemplary angel Emma 7 meanwhile follows Addis mission from heaven with concern. When Marie wants to leave the train at the next stop, Emma asks the first secretary to intervene, whereupon he blocks the train's continuation with a stone avalanche and Emma can get on. Addi quickly finds out that Emma is Marie's mother and, contrary to the regulations, had covered up this relationship in Heaven so that she could meet her daughter unrecognized during the mission. Addi, who feels sorry for Emma, promises her to take good care of Marie. The next morning she can finally elicit a laugh from Marie for the first time with a snowball fight. The First Secretary declares Addis mission completed successfully. After she has safely handed Marie over to her grandmother, Addi returns to heaven, now as an angel.

Produced a heavenly angel lazy from the Neue Schönhauser Filmproduktion in co-production with the Czech Mia film commissioned by the ZDF . The television film is the second film in the ZDF Christmas series Magische Momente , which began in 2018 with Paul's Christmas wish, directed by Vivian Naefe . Boris Schönfelder and Silke Zertz were again engaged for the production and script . The editing was again with Ina Werner and Irene Wellershoff. The film was shot from March 5 to April 4, 2019 in the greater Prague area and in the Czech Giant Mountains . Financial support came from the Czech Film Fund , among others .

A heavenly lazy angel was published on December 20, 2019 in the ZDFmediathek . On Christmas Day 2019, it was broadcast in the afternoon program of ZDF . A total of 1.3 million viewers tuned in. The market share of the total audience was 9.1 percent.
