Christoph Krauss (* 1964 in Hof (Saale) ) is a freelance cameraman and director of photography for scenic film and TV productions, documentaries and art projects (film and video installations).

Life

Christoph Krauss learned the camera trade at the State College for Optics and Photo Technology in Berlin and initially worked as a lighting technician , camera assistant and operator. Since 1995 he has been responsible as a cameraman for numerous productions in Germany and abroad. His filmography includes feature and television films, television series as well as documentaries, underwater recordings, action sequences and art projects.

Furthermore, in 1993 he helped set up the development-political video project "Theater for development" at the Bricks Township Center in Windhoek / Namibia and in 2010 taught at the Bauhaus University Weimar (Department of Media Design / Media Art) as part of a teaching assignment. Christoph Krauss lives in Berlin and is a member of the BVK, the professional association for cinematography . He is a member of the German Film Academy and the European Film Academy and is represented by the Players agency. With Manifesto he won the German Camera Award 2017 in the feature film category and a nomination for the German Film Award 2018 in the category "Best Camera / Image Design".
