Torsten Künstler (* 1969 ) is a German film director and film actor .

Live and act

Künstler gained his first experience in the film and television industry with jobs as a production driver and assistant to the production manager in 1992 on the television series The Little Vampire . He then appeared as a production manager in various television and cinema productions, including the 1994 television film Man (n) sucht Frau , the episode Die Schwadron from the television film series Schimanski and Tom Tykwer's 1997 film drama Winter Sleeper .

He gained his first directorial experience in 1999 in the television series Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei , where he directed several episodes of various action scenes. He was also responsible for the action scenes in the cinema production The Clown by Sebastian Vigg as 2nd director.

In Barfuss und Keinohrhasen he acted as assistant director to Til Schweiger , in other Til Schweiger productions he appeared as a co-director, he also worked alongside Matthias Schweighöfer as a co-director in various films such as What a Man (2011) , End-maker (2013) and The Nanny (2015).

On behalf of the production company Winners & Künstler, founded in 2012 by artist and Jörg Winners , he celebrated his debut as the sole director in the interactive children's film Cinderella and Puss in Boots , which was recognized by the jury of the German Film and Media Assessment as particularly valuable . He was responsible for directing the comedy Hot Dog , with Schweighöfer and Schweiger in the lead roles.

In addition to directing, the artist occasionally appears in supporting roles as an actor in front of the camera.
