Christian Alvart

Christian Alvart (born May 28, 1974 in Jugenheim , Hessen ) is a German director, screenwriter, cameraman and film producer.

Life

Before working in the film business, Christian Alvart held various positions, most recently as editor-in-chief at the film magazine X-TRO. In 1999 he made his debut as a film director with the thriller Curiosity & the Cat , for which he also wrote the screenplay. Alvart staged another thriller in 2005 with antibodies . Case 39 , which was Alvart's first Hollywood production and starred Renée Zellweger, was released in US cinemas in 2009 . The film opened in German cinemas on March 11, 2010 under the title Case 39 . Alvart's science fiction thriller Pandorum was also released in 2009 . Alvart has appeared as a Tatort director since 2011 and directed all films about the detective duo Tschiller and Gümer from 2013 to 2018 , including the movie Tschiller: Off Duty (2016).

In March 2010 it was announced that Christian Alvart had secured the filming rights to Captain Future and is working on a real film version in 3D.

Alvart is married, has four children and lives in Berlin.
