Emily Atef, director of the award winning film 3 Days in Quiberon

The 68th award of the German Film Prize (Lola) took place on April 27, 2018 in the Palais am Funkturm in Berlin . At 2.955 million euros, the award is the most highly endowed cultural award in Germany and is awarded by the German Film Academy in up to 18 categories. The nominations were announced on March 14, 2018. Emily Atef's biography 3 Days in Quiberon , which led the field of favorites with 10 nominations, received a total of 7 awards.

The director, actor and screenwriter Hark Bohm was awarded the honorary prize for outstanding services to German film in advance. Together with Fatih Akin , Bohm also received the regular script award for Out of Nowhere . Bora Dagtkin ( Fack ju Göhte 3 ) was honored with an undoped prize for “the most popular German film of the year” .

The award gala was broadcast with a time delay by the television station Das Erste . The event was hosted by moderator and actor Edin Hasanović and the President of the Film Academy Iris Berben . Director Sherry Hormann was responsible for the artistic direction .
