German Film Award / Best Foreign Film
The German Film Prize in the category Best Foreign Film was awarded to non-German films from 1996 to 2004 at the German Film Prize. The selection was made by a special jury, which only chose the winner in this category. When the members of the German Film Academy took over the election of the award winners in 2005 , the category was abolished.
