Janine Jackowski (* 1976 in Frechen ) is a German film producer and founder of the company Accomplice Film .

Life

Jackowski studied film production from 1998 to 2002 at the University of Television and Film Munich . During her studies she founded the film production company Accomplice Film with Maren Ade in 2000 , with which she produced Ade's graduation film The Forest for the Trees in 2003 . This was honored with the Special Jury Award of the Sundance Film Festival 2005 and nominated for the German Film Prize 2005 as Best Film.

Jackowski also produced Hotel Very Welcome (2007) and Hedi Schneider steckt steckt fest (2014), both of which were directed by Sonja Heiss . In 2009 she produced All Others , Maren Ade's second feature film, which won two Silver Bears at the Berlinale (Best Actress and Grand Jury Prize). In 2011 she produced Ulrich Köhler's feature film Sleeping Sickness , which won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlinale . The co-production Tabu (2012) by Miguel Gomes had its premiere in the Berlinale competition, the trilogy Arabian Nights in the Director's Fortnight / Cannes Film Festival 2015. In 2016 it produced Maren Ade's third feature film Toni Erdmann , which premiered in the Cannes competition and at the Academy Awards 2017 was submitted as a German entry for the best foreign language film. The film was sold in over 100 countries worldwide.

In 2009 Jackowski took part in the “Producer on the Move” program. She is a member of the ACE producers 'network as well as the German and European Film Academy and is a member of the executive board of the producers' association. In 2019 she received an invitation to membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscar .
