Sonja Heiss

Sonja Heiss (* 1976 in Munich ) is a German film director from the Berlin School and author.

Life

Sonja Heiss studied documentary film at the University of Television and Film Munich between 1998 and 2006 . At the same time, she worked as a casting director in advertising from 1998 to 2004 . Since 2003 she has directed commercials, since 2005 together with Jan Bonny as Duo Sonny & Bonny . In 2003 she worked as an assistant director on the production of Maren Ade's film The Forest for the Trees . For her first two films, but especially for her first feature film Hotel Very Welcome , she received a number of awards. She is also active as a writer and guest lecturer in the field of documentary film and television journalism at the University of Television and Film Munich. Sonja Heiss lives in Berlin.
