action

The film follows the experiences of five backpackers in Thailand and India. Josh and Adam are actually friends who are interested in women and beach parties. Their friendship breaks down when one of them runs out of money and is dependent on the other's mercy. Svenja is in a hotel room in Bangkok and calls a call center for days to get a flight. In doing so, she enters into something like a relationship with the employee, even though both barely understand each other linguistically. Liam travels around India in search of a drug experience. Marion visits an ashram and takes part in group experiences. When she's tired of it, she meets Liam, who missed his return flight.

Reviews

“In a gorgeous comic sequence of scenes, the film combines the fictional with the documentary, whereby the possibilities of a globalized search for meaning are ironically questioned. It condenses into a light, yet critical generation portrait with depth. "

“In her award-winning HFF graduation film, Sonja Heiss interweaves fiction with documentary elements and focuses on four episodes of travelers in Asia. With a sense of humor and realism, she explores situations that demystify the backpacker's image as an adventurer. Funny and thoughtful at the same time. "
