Chris O'Dowd
Chris O'Dowd (born October 9, 1979 in Boyle , County Roscommon , Connacht ) is an Irish actor .
Life
O'Dowd first attended University College Dublin , which he did not finish and then studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art .
He is best known in the UK for his roles in BBC Two's Roman's Empire , Red Cap , the award-winning docu-drama The Year London Blew Up (2005) and the comedy series The IT Crowd . On Irish television he is best known for his roles in The Clinic and show bands (with Kerry Katona ).
O'Dowd played stand-up comedian Tommy O'Dwyer in Festival (2005) , for which he received a BAFTA award. He starred in the German film Hotel Very Welcome (2007).
