The Clinic (German: "The Clinic") is a multi-award winning Irish dramedy - television series . It was produced by Parallel Film Productions for the TV station RTÉ . After the first episodes were broadcast, it received very good reviews and became one of RTÉ's most successful television series. It consists of seven seasons with 66 episodes and was shown on RTÉ One from September 2003 to November 2009 .

The television series is about the patients and staff at Clarence Street Clinic. It's about love, passions and the relationships between staff. Sometimes the staff need more help than the patients. This is how a doctor has to deal with his drug addiction. He also gets involved with many different women and therefore gets into trouble. The physiotherapist has a one night stand with a married man. The secretary falls in love with her boss. Another employee is blackmailed.

Broadcast and publication
The television series was broadcast in Ireland on RTÉ One, in Finland on Yle TV1 , in Iceland on RÚV , in Denmark on DK1, in Hungary on M2 , in Serbia on TV Košava, in New Zealand on TVNZ 6 and in Australia on ABC1 .
After seven seasons with a total of 66 episodes, RTÉ Television announced the cancellation of the series in November 2009. It ends with a cliffhanger and leaves many questions unanswered.
The complete series (seasons 1-7) was released on DVD in November 2010 by RTÉ .
