Lorraine Pilkington

Lorraine Pilkington (born January 1, 1975 in Dublin ) is an Irish actress .

Life and accomplishments

The Gaiety School of Acting graduate made her debut in a major role alongside Beverly D'Angelo in the 1991 film drama Miracle by Neil Jordan . She starred in the 1996 British-Irish drama Gold in the Streets to see the side of James Belushi ; in the comedy Last of the High Kings (1996) she played a larger role alongside Catherine O'Hara , Jared Leto , Christina Ricci and Gabriel Byrne . Irish sports drama The Boxer (1997), in which Pilkington starred alongside Daniel Day-Lewis , was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in three categories, including Best Picture Drama .

Pilkington took on one of the leading roles in the comedy Human Traffic (1999). She also played one of the leading roles - alongside Joanne Whalley - in the thriller Endless Sins (2000). Another leading role followed in the British-Mexican thriller Endstation Mexico from 2004.

Pilkington has been married to director Simon Massey since 2001 and has two children.
