Beverly D'Angelo (2012)

Beverly D'Angelo (born November 15, 1951 in Columbus , Ohio ) is an American actress and singer . She became known worldwide for her role in the film musical Hair in 1979 .

Life

D'Angelo comes from a managerial family ; her father ran the television station WBNS-TV in Columbus. She studied art in Italy and worked as a draftswoman for Hanna-Barbera . She is particularly known for the film Hair and the National Lampoon films, in which she played the female head of the family "Ellen Griswold" at Chevy Chase's side .

D'Angelo first appeared as a television actress in 1976. For her role in the musical film Coal Miner's Daughter (1980), in which she sang numerous titles, she was for the Film Award Golden Globe Award in the category Best Supporting Actress Best nominated. She received an Emmy nomination for her role as Stella Kowalski in the television film Endstation Sehnsucht (1984) . In 1992 she had a guest appearance in the third season of the animated series The Simpsons and 16 years later in the 19th season again lent her voice to the character "Lurleen Lumpkin". Her work for film and television includes more than 110 productions.

D'Angelo was married to Lorenzo Salviati from 1981 to 1995. From 1985 to 1991 she lived with the film director Neil Jordan , still married . She was in a relationship with Al Pacino from 1996 to 2002. With this she has twins (* 2001).
