action

More than 30 years after Clark W. Griswold went on a big trip to the USA with his family in The Shrill Four on the Road , Rusty Griswold wants to do the same as his father and with his wife Debbie and their two sons James and Kevin also "Walley World" and visiting his sister Audrey on the side.

The rental car is an Albanian model, including two tanks and a radio system with which you can contact truckers. Kevin speaks to one of them in an offensive manner while driving. James sees a pretty girl in a passing jeep who is smiling at him, but at this moment Kevin puts a plastic bag over his brother's head. When James is able to free himself from the plastic bag, the girl can no longer be seen. The family arrives at Debbie's former college where, to their surprise, she has become a legend of questionable fame as "Debbie Does It All". She wants to prove to be the inventor of the college attraction "drinking baked", but fails grandly on this obstacle course in a drunk state. After eating at a truck stop, the offended trucker seems to be chasing them. The family is staying at a cheap motel. Debbie and Rusty feel like having sex in the shower, but change their minds in view of the bloody signs of suicide in the bathtub. Meanwhile, James is sitting by the pool and playing the guitar. Adena, the girl from the jeep, sits down with him. Rusty wants to bring his son and the girl together as a wingman with impressive sayings , but Adena disappears because of these embarrassments.

The next day Rusty wants to go to the “hot springs” that are signposted. Because of a long line of cars on the driveway, Rusty asked a neglected local to show him a forest path as a shortcut. They are alone at the water, bathe and smear themselves with "healing mud" from the ground. They soon notice that it is a sewage pool and that the sludge consists of excrement . They jump out of the water and find that their car has been damaged and their luggage stolen. Stinking, they immediately go to Aunt Audrey and her husband Stone, who are wealthy, live on a large estate and raise Angus cattle. From Audrey's charitable donations of clothing, they dress in new clothes. At dinner together, Stone flirts with Debbie, which Rusty dislikes because Debbie is not wearing her wedding ring. The next morning, Rusty Stone helps drive cattle with quads , drives into a cow and has to be hosed off the remains.

Unhappy the Griswolds drive on and spend the night in Utah in a motel on the border with Arizona , New Mexico and Colorado . Rusty got the idea to have sex at the Four Corners Monument and sneaks there with Debbie at night. However, other couples are already queuing up there with the same idea. Everyone flees in front of a police officer, only Rustie and Debbie remain standing, but they also find an opportunity to escape when another three police officers from the other countries argue with the first. Meanwhile, James meets Adena again, but when they want to kiss, James is disturbed by Kevin.

The next day, the Griswold family goes rafting on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon . Shortly before it starts, the friend of her guide Chad breaks the engagement, which is why Chad decides to commit suicide. Shortly before a huge waterfall, the Griswolds jump from the rubber dinghy and swim to save their lives, while Chad and the raft plunge into the abyss.

The disturbed Debbie wants to turn back, but Rusty insists on driving on. The fuel runs out, while trying out the vehicle functions Rusty destroys the car, the family is stuck in the desert. The well-known trucker comes by and stops, but is not angry at all, but gives Debbie back the wedding ring she lost at the truck stop. He takes the family with him to San Francisco . The Griswolds spend the night there with Rusty's parents, Clark and Ellen.

Clark can persuade his son Rusty to continue to "Walley World" and provides the family with the car from back then. In “Walley World” they want to ride the Velociraptor, the roller coaster. You stand in line for several hours. When it is their turn, a family with a platinum card (driving without queuing), who is already making their fifth trip, pushes forward as the last group of the day. Rusty pounces on the other family man and both families fight. The victorious Griswolds get on, but the train gets stuck in a loop and the passengers have to wait upside down until night. Rusty recently surprised Debbie with a flight to Paris , but they had to make do with jump seats next to the toilet.
