John Francis Daley (born July 20, 1985 in Wheeling , Illinois ) is an American actor , film director , screenwriter and musician .

Life

Daley is the son of actor RF Daley and piano teacher Nancy Daley. He grew up in Nyack , New York . John Francis played piano and drum in a school band and has appeared in a number of theater productions, including Grease .

In 2000 he was cast in the short film Allerd Fishbein's in Love . The 21-minute film became his career springboard, as shortly afterwards Daley was given a leading role in the short-lived, 18-part television series Voll besides, Voll im Leben . In 2005 he appeared in the also short-lived series Kitchen Confidential . From 2007 to 2014 he played the role of Dr. in the television series Bones. Lance sweets . He left the series in the season premiere of the tenth season because he wants to focus more on working behind the camera in the future. In 2015 he made his feature film debut as a director with the comedy Vacation - We Are the Griswolds . Another comedy film followed in 2018 with Game Night .

Parallel to his work in film and television, Daley is a member of the rock band Dayplayer , in which he appears as a singer and keyboard player .

On February 6, 2016, Daley married screenwriter Corinne Kingsbury, who was four years older than him . In 2017, the couple became parents of a son, Basil.
