action

Dale, Kurt and Nick found a company that produces a sophisticated shower system, the Shower Buddy , with which they want to be internationally successful.

After the product was presented on television, the first interested parties got in touch, including Bert Hanson, who runs a large mail order business. He promises a big order and the friends start production immediately. When they are about to deliver the goods, Hanson reveals that he does not intend to buy the goods. Since the friends' company is now bankrupt due to the investments made, Hanson hopes to acquire the patents for the Shower Buddy as bankruptcy assets at a reasonable price.

In revenge, the three decide to kidnap Hanson's grown son, Rex. They want to extort $ 500,000 from Hanson and thus save their company. They turn to Dave Harken and Motherfuckah Jones for advice. Eventually they come up with a plan to stun Rex with nitrous oxide, which they steal from Harris' practice with some difficulty.

The plan seems to fail at first as the friends stun themselves. Rex, who discovers the friends, agrees to their surprise to be kidnapped, but suggests increasing the extortion fee tenfold. Nick is concerned at first, but Rex persuades him to put his father's love to the test and continue to secure his extravagant lifestyle through the blackmailed millions.

The four develop a seemingly foolproof plan, of which the eternally doubting Nick can be convinced. At first the plan seems to work more or less, but Hanson sr. Refuses to cooperate with the delivery of the ransom. Rex appears surprisingly and shoots his father. He reveals that from the start he had planned to betray the three friends to the police and keep the ransom to himself, but would not be satisfied with the 5 million if he could inherit all of his father's fortune.

Just before Dale, Kurt and Nick can be caught by the police, Motherfuckah shows up and escapes with them. The plan is to be with the police in the wake in front of Rex at his alleged whereabouts to prove to the police that he shot Bert. This plan also fails at first and Motherfuckah escapes alone with the ransom. However, Rex reveals himself when Kurt's cell phone rings in his pants, which he had blackmailed from Kurt shortly before, because his father's blood had been on his own. During his subsequent arrest, Dale is shot.

Ultimately, the plan to save the company with the extorted money did not work, which is why it has to be foreclosed. It was bought by auction from Harken, who runs the company from prison. In the last scene you see Motherfuckah who is fulfilling a lifelong dream with the ransom by buying three frozen yoghurt stores.

reception

Sascha Köbner from film-dienst judged that "the comedy about three hapless men turns out to be a toothless number revue", "which is exhausted in banal slapstick and dreary resentment" and "does not know what to do with the socially critical potential of a rebellious middle class". Christopher Diekhaus from Kino-Zeit thinks that “Kill the Boss 2 offers more than one can expect from the sequel to a less intoxicating comedy” and particularly praises the editing and the background music.
