Charles Peckham Day (born February 9, 1976 in the Bronx , New York City , New York ) is an American actor , screenwriter and producer .

Life & Career

Day spent most of his childhood and youth in Middletown ( Rhode Iceland ) and graduated from the Portsmouth Abbey School in Portsmouth . He then attended Merrimack College in Massachusetts .

His acting career began in the 2000 television movie Mary and Rhoda . This was followed by guest appearances in television series such as Law & Order or Reno 911! and minor roles in other films. From 2001 to 2004 he had a recurring role on the television series Third Watch . Since 2005 he has played a leading role in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia , a. a. at the side of Danny DeVito and is involved in the show as a screenwriter and producer.

He has been married to actress Mary Elizabeth Ellis since 2006 . Their first child, a boy, was born on December 15, 2011.
