action

In 2028 Los Angeles is unrecognizable after numerous uprisings. There is also the notorious "Hotel Artemis", a secret hospital for criminals. Upon admission, all patients receive the name of the room in which they are accommodated as a code name. There are also strict rules in other respects, among other things, patients are only admitted if there are still rooms available and no one may be killed within the walls. In the course of the night, however, the only existing nurse learns that one patient is planning to murder another. When a pair of brothers are shot in a bank robbery, they drag themselves into the hotel and are accepted as Waikiki and Honolulu. The loot of the robbery, a ballpoint pen with diamonds valued at $ 18 million, belongs to a gang boss known as Wolfking who rules the streets of Los Angeles.

The Wolfking was later brought to the hospital by his people as a result of a serious injury and was given the code name Niagara . When Waikiki learns of this, he fears for his and his brother's life and wants to flee with him. However, since Honolulu's injuries have not yet healed sufficiently, they decide to stay and defend themselves.

Nice, a hit man who was already in the Hotel Artemis at the beginning of the night, has the task of killing the Wolfking. To get to him, she destroys the hospital's power generator and can then kill him. The power cut also dies in Honolulu as the machines that kept it alive no longer work.

Shaken by the death of the Wolf King, his people, including his son, try to break into the Hotel Artemis. Waikiki and her sister manage to escape, while Nice and Everest stay behind to defend the Artemis Hotel.
