action

Radio employee Brad tries hard to be a good stepfather to his wife Sara's two children. One evening, Dusty, the children's biological father, calls and is invited by Brad to visit the family. Dusty shows up the next day and immediately dwarfs Brad with his handsome and muscular appearance. Dusty spends more and more time with the children and it becomes apparent that he is trying to reconcile himself with Sara and drive Brad out of the family in order to take on the role of father of the children himself. A bitter fight breaks out between Brad and Dusty, in which both try to win the hearts of Sara and the children with tricks and gifts.

When Sara finally breaks up with Brad after an embarrassing appearance by her husband during a basketball game, and Brad undresses, Dusty senses his chance to win his family back for good. However, he realizes how stressful it is to be a good father. He decides to leave the family, but is stopped at the airport by Brad. Dusty admits he can't be a father and thanks Brad for taking such good care of his children for years. Eventually Brad moves back in with Sara and takes on the role of father of the children. Dusty builds a house across the street to stay on site as a “co-dad” for the children. He later married and became the stepfather of a daughter. When their biological father, Roger, shows up, Dusty finds himself in the same situation Brad was initially in.
