from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sergei Wiktorowitsch Botschkarew , Russian Сергей Викторович Бочкарев , English transcription Sergey Victorovich Bochkarev (born July 24, 1941 in Samara ), is a Russian mathematician who deals with analysis.

Botschkarew received his doctorate in 1969 from Lomonosov University under Petr Lavrentjewitsch Uljanow (1928-2006) ( Via Fourier series in Haar's System , Russian) and completed his habilitation in 1974 ( Russian doctorate ). He is a senior scientist in the Function Theory Department of the Steklov Institute in Moscow.

He is particularly concerned with harmonic analysis, orthogonal function systems, bases in function spaces, exponential sums.

In 1977 he received the Salem Prize .
