Norman Mark Reedus (born January 6, 1969 in Hollywood , Florida ) is an American actor and voice actor . He has played the leading role of Daryl Dixon in the horror series The Walking Dead since 2010 , which brought him international fame.

Life

Before starting his acting career, Norman Reedus worked both as a model (at Prada and D'Urban, among others ) and in a Harley-Davidson branch in Venice , California . His family moved with him to Los Angeles when he was a child . When he was 12, the family left America and went to Japan , Spain and the UK . When he returned to California and presented a small performance with a friend at a party there , another guest approached him about acting. After several unsuccessful auditions and after his first film appearance fell victim to the cut, he first attracted attention in the blockbuster Mimic - Attack of the Killer Insects . He achieved his greatest success with The Bloody Path of God and Deadly Rumors . In 2006 he shot the television series 13 Graves in America .

Norman Reedus dated the Danish model Helena Christensen from 1998 to 2003 . He has a son with her (* 1999). Having one in February 2005 REM - concert in Berlin attended, he found himself on the way back in a traffic jam and was involved accident truck in one. He was thrown through the windshield and sustained multiple injuries to the left side of his face.

Reedus has played one of the leading roles in the AMC series The Walking Dead since 2010 . Since the character of Daryl Dixon embodied by him does not exist in the comic book template, one fan theory is that the popularity that Daryl enjoys with fans is largely based on Reedus' interpretation of the role: "The authors and producers of the Show still support me in shaping Daryl into someone who can be seen growing, who doesn't know exactly who he is and how to treat other people.
