Mark Mothersbaugh (born May 18, 1950 in Akron , Ohio ) is an American musician , composer and singer .
Life
Mothersbaugh is the lead singer of the new wave band Devo .
After writing music for TV series and films in the 1980s, he has contributed soundtracks and songs to over 90 series and films since the band Devo broke up in 1991 , such as Tapeheads - Crazy on Video (1988) , Last Supper - Die Henkersmahlzeit (1995), Happy Gilmore (1996), Crazy (1996), Bloody Wedding - The bride must wait (1997), Men are there to be kissed (1997), Breaking Up (1997), Halloween Town - My Grandma is a Witch (1998), The Second Me (2000), Sugar & Spice (2001), The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), On Animal Mission (2003), Dogtown Boys (2004), Envy (2004), Herbie : Fully Loaded (2005), Mama's Boy (2007), Nick and Norah - Soundtrack of a Night (2008) and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009).
So far, Mothersbaugh has received seven awards at the BMI Film & TV Awards . He was also nominated three times for a Daytime Emmy Award .
