theme

The series revolves mainly around the characters of American football team the University Blue Mountain State, the Goats . It is about male undergraduate students at an American college and covers topics such as football, women tearing up, and parties with excessive alcohol and drug use.

main characters

  • Alex Moran ( Darin Brooks ): Alex is from Cheyenne , has just graduated from Blue Mountain State and is the substitute quarterback for the football team. In contrast to other team members, he does not see his sport as a stepping stone into the NFL , but likes to take on the role of substitute, although he is an excellent athlete and rarely a good quarterback. He has also made friends with living a simple average life after completing his studies. His team membership mainly serves to get to know women and to be part of many parties.
  • Sammy Cacciatore ( Chris Romano ): Just like Alex, Sammy is from Wyoming, is the first year at Blue Mountain State and has long been Alex's best friend. Sammy also lives with Alex and is the goats' mascot . His constant search for women and excuses to get drunk often get him into minor trouble.
  • Craig Shilo ( Sam Jones III ): Craig, often just called Shilo, comes from Columbus , was high school player of the year the year before he started his studies and is now the new star player of the "Goats". In contrast to the other team members, Craig is rather sensible and is very attached to his extremely manipulative friend Denise. When he finds out that she has cheated on him with other men, he breaks up. His goal is to win the Heisman Trophy and later become a major NFL star. At the beginning of season two, Shilo is transferred to Georgia Tech and disappears from the series (his character was written from the script after Jones' arrested and sentenced to one year in prison and three years probation for major drug trafficking in Hollywood ).
  • Kevin "Thad" Castle ( Alan Ritchson ): Thad is the linebacker and captain of the team. He is from Connecticut . Despite his excellence as a football player, he is not particularly liked by the majority of the team due to his eccentric and overly exaggerated nature. His father died in the Bosnian War and had an affair there to father Thad's half-sister Alma. Furthermore, Thad tends to be homoerotic, especially when it comes to the rituals of the new players on the team. In the episode "The Golden Arm" it turns out that he injects himself with rabies before every game in order to improve his performance, since only "idiots" use steroids because it can be detected in doping tests.
  • Denise Roy ( Gabrielle Dennis ): Denise has been Craig's girlfriend since high school and has "spent more than 8 percent of her life with him". The former queen of high school prom and Blue Mountain State flagship student is cold and calculating. In addition, Denise refuses to sleep with him on the pretext of Craig getting better results in football. Behind his back, however, she has a hot threesome with two other women and sleeps with a student from her marketing class . In total, she cheats on Craig with 9 men and 5 women. Only Alex is able to see through it.
  • Mary Jo Cacciatore ( Frankie Shaw ): Mary Jo Cacciatore is the half-sister of Sammy Cacciatore, who has been studying at Blue Mountain State since the second season. Because of her talents she receives a full scholarship, but immediately becomes a cheerleader and spends most of her time at the boisterous parties at the "Goat House". She frequently tries to seduce Alex Moran, but is always turned away because she is the half-sister of his best friend Sammy.
