Rev Theory (former band name: Revelation Theory) is an American rock band from North Andover , Massachusetts . They are currently under contract with Interscope Records .

Band history

The members of the previous band Revelation Theory originally came from North Andover, where they met in 1997 at Merrimack College. In 2001 the band members moved to New York City , where they met the current bassist Matt McCloskey a year later.

In 2005 her debut album Truth Is Currency was released , which was released under the EMI label . In the same year they toured with bands like Sevendust and Hinder as opening act. Their first single Slowburn made it to number 27 on the mainstream rock tracks chart in the USA in 2005.

The following year they performed for the first time in Europe, as opening act for Evanescence and Saliva . In 2007 the band toured again with rock greats like Papa Roach and Hinder in the USA.

Rev Theory's breakthrough came in 2008 when World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) used their music for their pay-per-view events.

With the song Light It up , the band provided the music for the biggest wrestling event of the year. The song Hell Yeah was the official theme for the ECW One Night Stand . Former WWE DIVA Ashley Massaro appeared in the Hell Yeah video, and WWE Superstar Randy Orton uses the song Voices as break-in music. Also, Hellyeah the theme song of the American television series Blue Mountain State . In January 2009 the band began touring the United States with Theory of a Deadman and Ten Second Epic . Her third studio album Justice was released in February on DGC / Interscope Records.

The fourth studio album The Revelation was released in September 2016.

In 2018 the band announced that they would no longer go on tour. However, there is definitely the possibility of releasing new music.
