Christopher Bruce "Chris" Hemsworth (born August 11, 1983 in Melbourne , Victoria ) is an Australian actor .

life and career

Chris Hemsworth was born in Melbourne to descendants of European immigrants . His two brothers Luke and Liam are also actors. He graduated from Heathmont Secondary College.

After a few guest appearances on Australian television series he played from 2004 to 2007 in the Australian soap opera Home and Away to Kim Hyde . He received the Logie Award for the role . Meanwhile, he also appeared in the Australian version of Let's Dance . In the Star Trek film from 2009 he played George Kirk , the father of the future Captain James Tiberius Kirk . Hemsworth was in 2009 for the horror film The Cabin in the Woods in front of the camera, which was only released after two years (December 2011).
