Tommy Morgenstern

Tommy Morgenstern (* 28. March 1974 as Thomas Lührig in Osnabruck , Lower Saxony ) is a German voice actor and singer . He is best known for the speaking role of the adult Son-Goku in the anime series Dragon Ball Z , and as the German voice of Norman Reedus in The Walking Dead . He is, among others, the German fixed voice of Chris Hemsworth , TJ Miller and Ryan Gosling . Occasionally he also speaks to actor Benedict Cumberbatch .

Music career

In the early 1990s he performed with the band Sick for Toys. The band, consisting of Sven Stumpe on guitar, Andreas “Helmet” Müller on bass, Ralf Strotmann as drummer and Morgenstern as singer, released the album … are us in 1996 . During the recording of the second album, however, the band broke up. Morgenstern met Martin Irnich through Sven Stumpe. This enabled the band to record their first demo in a dubbing studio. In the same studio Morgenstern then auditioned for the butt-head voice of the MTV series Beavis and Butt-Head , where he prevailed among eight applicants and, together with Julien Haggége, gave the comic characters their peculiarities between 1995 and 1997 .

As the singer of the independent band CooCaChoo , he first appeared in September 1997 together with bassist Marcus Bechtel, guitarist Jörg Heybrock and drummer Jörg Dartmann in Osnabrück.

Meanwhile moved to Berlin , he released his first single Mitten in Berlin in March 2002 as Tommy Morgenstern & Band . He also dubbed Raymond Cruz as Tuco Salamanca on Breaking Bad and its prequel Better Call Saul .

Since 2017 he has been dubbing Luke Hemsworth on the HBO television series Westworld . Hemsworth is the older brother of Chris Hemsworth, whose festive voice is Morgenstern too.

Morgenstern first dubbed a leading role in cinema productions in 2002, in the stoner comedy So High for Redman . In 2006 he could be heard in the comedy Jackass: Number Two as Chris Pontius and in the Australian horror film Wolf Creek as Ben Mitchell. In 2007 he dubbed Joe Anderson twice , once in the musical Across the Universe as a student Max Carrigan, who was drafted for the Vietnam War, and then in the biographical film Control as Peter Hook , bassist for the post-punk band Joy Division .
