Matt Passmore (* 24. December 1972 in Wynnum-Manly , Brisbane , Queensland as Matthew Passmore ) is an Australian actor , best known for his leading roles as Marcus Turner in McLeod's Daughters , and as Jim Longworth in The Glades .

life and career

Matt Passmore was born in December 1972 in Wynnum-Manly , a borough of Brisbane . He served in the Australian Army in the early 1990s before moving to Sydney . There he completed an acting degree with Anna Torv at the renowned National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Kensington in 2001 with a degree in performing arts .

Passmore began his career as a regular presenter on the Australian children's program Play School . In 2003, a sixteen episodes followed extensive supporting role as Pete Jones in the dramedy - television series Always Greener and the role of the disabled Brad Fingleton in the long-life crime drama Blue Heelers . He also had other recurring supporting roles in television series, such as The Cooks , and a brief appearance in the comedy film The Mask 2: The Next Generation . In 2005 he also had one of the leading roles in the comedy series Last Man Standing , which was discontinued after a season. In 2006 he got the role of Marcus Turner in the award-winning drama series McLeod's Daughters , which made him known outside of Australia. He played this role in over 50 episodes by the end of the series in 2009. In 2008 and 2009 he appeared in the short film Noir Drive and in the miniseries Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities and The Cut .

He then moved to the United States where he received the lead role in Fox - pilot Masterwork , but which did not receive a series order. From 2010 to 2013 he starred for four seasons as Detective Jim Longworth in the A&E Network crime series The Glades .
