A & E is an over cable and satellite radiating American commercial broadcaster with headquarters in Manhattan . A&E stands for Arts and Entertainment , which was also in the station's title for many years. The station broadcasts its full program in the USA , Canada and Latin America . On September 22nd, 2014, A&E Germany replaced the Biography Channel in the German-speaking market .
