A & E Germany is on cable , satellite and IPTV radiating PayTV - private broadcaster with headquarters in Munich . A&E stands for Arts and Entertainment , which in America was also for many years in the title of the parent station A&E Network . The station broadcasts its full program in Germany , Austria and Switzerland . On September 22nd, 2014 it replaced the Biography Channel on all distribution channels in the German-speaking market . A&E operates in Germany under the name The History Channel (Germany) GmbH & Co. KG, which also operates the sister station History . In the German-speaking region, the non-fictional digital channel is operated in a joint venture between NBC Universal Global Networks Deutschland GmbH and A + E Networks .
In April 2019 it was announced that the station would be renamed " Crime + Investigation " from June 29, 2019 .
program
A&E broadcasts real-life docutainment around extraordinary protagonists. Crime, Deals, Family and Paranormal make up the four core genres of the station. The program is put together entirely by A + E Networks Germany and consists of synchronized productions of the American counterpart, programs of the German program partner ZDF and other suppliers. The offer includes individual programs, weekly topic-related content as well as series and series.

A&E Germany HD
On September 22, 2014 A & E Germany launches also a 1080i - high-definition broadcasting transmitters, the same time the same program as A & E Germany. A&E HD can be received via Kabel Deutschland in the variety HD Extra and in IPTV via the Telekom television platform Entertain in the HD option. An HD offshoot via the pay TV provider Sky is still pending.
