Christian-Markus Raiser

Christian-Markus Raiser (* 1962 in Eschental / Hohenlohekreis ) is a German organist , composer and church music director .

Live and act

Christian-Markus Raiser studied church music at the State Universities of Music in Stuttgart and Trossingen with Jon Laukvik , Zsigmond Szathmáry and Gerd Witte (organ), as well as with Dieter Kurz and Manfred Schreier (conducting). He completed his studies with the A-exam and received a scholarship from the Graduate Fund of the State of Baden-Württemberg . During his studies, Raiser worked as a cantor and organist at the Evangelical City Church in Renningen from 1986 before moving to the Evangelical City Church in Stuttgart- Untertürkheim in 1991 .

From 1990 to 1992 Raiser held a teaching position at the Trossingen University of Music . From 1995 to 2000 he worked as a lecturer for organ literature and improvisation at the University of Church Music in Heidelberg .

Since 1996 Christian-Markus Raiser has been organist and cantor at the Evangelical City Church in Karlsruhe , which is also the market church in Karlsruhe and the bishop's church of the Evangelical regional church in Baden . In the same year he founded the CoroPiccolo Karlsruhe and took over the direction of the Karlsruhe Bach Choir . Under Raiser's direction, in addition to oratorios from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods, he is also increasingly taking on modern choral literature. Major oratorical works are performed two to three times a year.

In 1997 Raiser initiated the founding of the Karlsruhe Baroque Orchestra, which specializes in historical performance practice .

Raiser realized the following world premieres of works by contemporary composers with the CoroPiccolo: 2002 Archangeli ( Petr Eben ), 2004 Lied von der Glocke (Kjell Habbestad), 2005 Missa Lyrica (Felixreiber), 2011 Sonne, Mond, Sterne ( Peter Schindler ), 2013 Er has come to throw fire on the earth ( Ulrich Gasser ).

In 2007 Raiser was appointed church music director.

He is also the artistic director of concert series at the Evangelical City Church in Karlsruhe, such as the International Organ Summer .

As an organist, Christian-Markus Raiser not only gives concerts on the two organs of the city church, he is also active as a concert organist worldwide.
