Nate Corddry was born on September 8, 1977 in the city of Weymouth in the Greater Boston metropolitan area in the US state of Massachusetts to Steven and Robin Corddry (nee Sullivan). With Rob, who also acts as an actor, he has a brother and also a sister, Laura, who is currently working at Southern New Hampshire University . The father, Steven Corddry, was a clerk at the Massachusetts Port Authority , while his mother worked in customer service for The MathWorks company, among other things . Like his older brother, Nate Corddry completed his school education at the local Weymouth North High School , from which he graduated in 1995. There he gained his first experiences as an actor, although in his previous life he had only attended a play, a performance of Cats at the Wang Theater in Boston , as a ten-year-old. This was followed by financial support and a scholarship to study communication sciences at Colby-Sawyer College in the small town of New London in the state of New Hampshire . Here, too, he continued to appear as part of the school's theater troupe and, after completing two years of study, spent a year in the theater program at Northeastern University in Boston. When he was in his junior year, his third year of college, his theater professor Jerry Bliss came up to him and persuaded him to participate in the Williamstown Theater Festival Apprenticeship Program . Subsequently he would appear for many years at the Williamstown Theater Festival ; in his 30s already as a leading actor and no longer as a trainee ( apprentice ). After graduating from college in 2000, he first wanted to attend a graduate school and therefore move to the University of Wisconsin – Madison , for which he had already signed all papers. However, Nate Corddry, who came from the much smaller and privately run Colby-Sawyer College, decided not to complete any further studies at short notice and initially moved to his older brother in New York City , where he had been living since January 1994.
