Shari Springer Berman

Shari Springer Berman (born July 13, 1963 in New York City ) is an American film director and screenwriter .

Life

Berman graduated from Wesleyan University and studied film at Columbia University . In 1994 she married Robert Pulcini and since then their film and television careers have been closely linked. Berman and Pulcini direct and write the scripts together. Pulcini is also often responsible for editing joint projects.

In the first years they worked in the field of documentation, in 2003 the two directed American Splendor , their first feature film. For the screenplay, the two were nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Adapted Screenplay and honored with several film prizes.
