AB Swedcarrier was a Swedish public company owned by the state, in which all subsidiaries of the State Railways were combined until 2001 and which became a holding company as part of the privatization of the State Railways on January 1, 2001. 2009 merged AB Swedcarrier with Jernhusen AB .

In 2001 Swedcarrier became a holding company for the companies Jernhusen AB, EuroMaint AB, SweMaint AB, TraffiCare AB and Unigrid AB. Swedcarrier also held a 50 percent stake in Nordwaggon.

The company's task was to sell the various companies. In 2001 Unigrid was sold to Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and EDB Teamco. In the same year, TraffiCare was sold to ISS Sverige . In 2006 the stake in Nordwaggon was sold to Transwaggon AB. In 2007 the workshop operations SweMaint were sold to Kockums Industrier AB and EuroMaint to the finance company Ratos AB.

Since only Jernhusen remained, it was decided in 2009 to dissolve Swedcarrier and to merge with the subsidiary.
