The Northeastern University ( NU ) is a private university in Boston in the US state of Massachusetts . It was founded in 1898. In the 2017–2018 academic year, around 21,500 students were enrolled at the NU, including almost 14,000 undergraduates . The NU cooperates with other universities as part of the International Partnership of Business Schools .
