Career

childhood

Josh Manson is the son of longtime NHL player Dave Manson . Shortly after his father's engagement with the Chicago Blackhawks ended , Josh was born in Hinsdale , Illinois , a suburb of Chicago . Because of the father's job, Josh's young family had to move regularly. After Dave Manson's retirement, Josh grew up in his father's birthplace, Prince Albert , Saskatchewan , Canada . His cousin Dylan Yeo is also a professional ice hockey player.

Beginnings in ice hockey

Josh Manson began his career in his hometown with the Prince Albert Mintos , where he played as an attacking player before the right-shooter was later retrained as a defender. After two years with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks from the BCHL , he decided to study criminal law at Northeastern University in Boston . At university, the Canadian played for the Northeastern Huskies in Hockey East , where he was named defensively strongest defender in his final season.

Breakthrough in the NHL

After Manson had been selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the NHL Entry Draft three years earlier , he signed an entry contract with the Ducks in March 2014 , which gave him to their farm team from the American Hockey League (AHL), the Norfolk Admirals , by the end of the season . The following season the defensive defender spent alternately in the AHL and NHL , where he made his debut in the away game with the Dallas Stars on October 31, 2014 . For the 2015/16 season, the Canadian was able to establish himself in the NHL squad of the Ducks and scored his first goal in the North American elite class against the Columbus Blue Jackets on November 7, 2015 .
