Adam Gaudette (born October 3, 1996 in Braintree , Massachusetts ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League since March 2018 and also for their farm team, the Utica Comets , in American Hockey League is used.

Career

Adam Gaudette attended the Thayer Academy in his hometown Braintree in his youth and ran for their ice hockey team in a regional high school league. For the 2014/15 season he moved to the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in the United States Hockey League (USHL), the highest junior league in the United States. For the RoughRiders, the center forward scored 30 points scorer in 50 games and was then considered in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft in 149th position by the Vancouver Canucks .

For now, however, Gaudette returned to his native Massachusetts and enrolled at Northeastern University , with whose ice hockey team he took part in the game operation of Hockey East , a college league of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). In his first year he won the Hockey East championship with the Northeastern Huskies , before he significantly increased his personal statistics in the following season and was elected to the Hockey East Third All-Star Team after 52 points from 37 games . The attacker ended the 2017/18 season with 30 goals and 30 assists, was named Hockey East's best scorer and thus named their player of the year and appointed to the First All-Star team . He was also nominated as one of three finalists for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award , which recognizes the best college player in the United States. There he ultimately prevailed against Ryan Donato and Henrik Borgström .

After the college season ended, Gaudette signed an entry-level contract with the Vancouver Canucks in late March 2018 and made his debut in the National Hockey League (NHL) a few days later .
