Jason Krog (born October 9, 1975 in Fernie , British Columbia ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who has played for the New York Islanders and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the National Hockey League during his playing career .
Career
Jason Krog began his career as a hockey player with the Chilliwack Chiefs, for whom he was active from 1992 to 1995 in the British Columbia Hockey League . He then played for four years for the team of the University of New Hampshire before he received a free agent contract with the New York Islanders on May 14, 1999 , for which he was on the ice in the following three seasons as well as for the Lowell Lock Monsters , Providence Bruins , Springfield Falcons and Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the American Hockey League .
The striker then moved to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim , for whom he ran up to the lockout in the 2004/05 NHL season in the NHL and reached the final of the Stanley Cup in the 2002/03 season. In this he lost with the team to the New Jersey Devils 3: 4 in the best-of-seven series.
Krog bridged the lockout himself at EC VSV from the Austrian ice hockey league . The right-handed shooter then stayed in Europe , where he ran up in the 2005/06 season, first for HC Servette Genève from the Swiss National League A , and then for the Frölunda HC from the Swedish Elitserien , with which he was runner-up. The following year the Canadian returned to North America , where he played for the Atlanta Thrashers and New York Rangers from the NHL, as well as Atlanta's AHL farm team , the Chicago Wolves . In the 2007/08 season Krog ran exclusively for the Chicago Wolves, with whom he won the Calder Cup , where he had a large share of this success as top scorer, top scorer and best player of the regular season and the playoffs of the American Hockey League.
Due to the strong season with the Wolves, the Vancouver Canucks became aware of the center and took him as a free agent under contract, but he completed only four games in the NHL for the team from British Columbia , in which he scored a goal. The rest of the season he played for their AHL farm team, the Manitoba Moose . On July 3, 2009, Krog returned to the Atlanta Thrashers as a free agent. For this, the striker did not complete an NHL game in the following two seasons and spent the entire time on the farm team with the Chicago Wolves in the AHL, where he was the team captain . In June 2011, Krog received a one-year contract with HV71 from the Elitserien, which was later extended to 2014.
Between June 2014 and September 2014 Krog was under contract with the KHL Medveščak Zagreb from the KHL . In October of the same year Jason Krog completed a try-out at EC VSV, for which he had already accrued during the 2004/05 lock-out season, and received a contract until the end of the season.
In the 2015/16 season he was under contract with the French club Rouen Hockey Elite 76 . This was followed by an engagement with the Norwegian first division club Lørenskog IK , then the Canadian ended his active career.
