Peter Sejna (born October 5, 1979 in Liptovský Mikuláš , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak ice hockey player who was under contract with the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League during his active career between 1996 and 2015 . He also won the Champions Hockey League and the Victoria Cup with the ZSC Lions in 2009 .

Career

Peter Sejna began his career as an ice hockey player at MHk 32 Liptovský Mikuláš , for whom he played in the Slovak Extra League from 1996 to 1998 and was already active in the junior division. Before the 1998/99 season, the attacker moved to North America, where he was on the ice for two years for the Des Moines Buccaneers from the United States Hockey League and finally three years for the Colorado College team . Towards the end of the 2002/03 season , the Slovak made his debut for the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League . There the Hobey Baker Memorial Award winner was under contract for a total of four seasons, although Sejna played mainly for St. Louis' farm teams . The Slovak first ran from 2003 to 2005 for Worcester IceCats and finally from 2005 to 2007 for the Peoria Rivermen in the American Hockey League .

In the summer of 2007, Sejna received a contract with the ZSC Lions in the Swiss National League A , with which he became Swiss champions in the 2007/08 season and won the Champions Hockey League a year later . From 2010 Sejna was under contract with HC Davos .

From the 2012/13 season, Peter Sejna continued his career with the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers , where he signed a two-year contract. In 2015, Sejna ended his career at the age of 35.

International

For Slovakia , Sejna took part in the U20 Junior World Championship in 1999 and the World Championship in 2003 . At both tournaments he won the bronze medal.
