Jack A. Butterfield Trophy
The Jack A. Butterfield Trophy is a North American ice hockey trophy of the American Hockey League (AHL), which has been awarded annually since 1984 to the most valuable player ( MVP ) in the playoffs for the Calder Cup . Most often the trophy was won by goalkeepers . By 2012, 15 goalkeepers had received the award.
The trophy is named after Jack Arlington Butterfield , who worked as coach and general manager for teams in the AHL and was president of the league for 28 years from 1966 to 1994.
