Andrew Poturalski (born January 14, 1994 in Williamsville , New York ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League since July 2019 and for their farm team , the San Diego Gulls , in the American Hockey League plays on the position of the center .

Poturalski spent his junior years between first in the 2010/11 season with the Buffalo Junior Sabers from the Ontario Junior Hockey League . These were in cooperation with the Buffalo Sabers from the National Hockey League . In his only year of play, the striker scored 38 points in 33 games and found himself in the league's Second All-Prospect team at the end of the season. The following season he moved to the United States Hockey League , where Poturalski was active for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders for the following three years . There he played a total of 119 games during this period and scored 103 times. The 20-year-old moved to college for the 2014/15 season . In parallel to his studies at the University of New Hampshire , the American played in the following two game years for the university ice hockey team Wildcats , which is part of the Hockey East , a division in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association . Especially in his second season Poturalski could draw attention with 50 points in 37 games. So he was top scorer in the main round, which finally brought him the election to the First All-Star Team of the Hockey East and the East First All-American Team of the NCAA.
Undrafted , the attacker received a contract offer from the Carolina Hurricanes of the NHL in March 2016 , after which he ended his school career and became a professional. At the end of the 2015/16 season Poturalski completed his first assignments for the Hurricanes farm team Charlotte Checkers in the American Hockey League . There he was a regular player at the beginning of the following season and came to 52 points in 79 missions in his rookie season . He also made his NHL debut for Carolina. In the following two seasons, Poturalski was only used for the Checkers. After 49 points in the 2017/18 season, he rose to 70 points in the main round in his third year as a professional. He then had 23 more points in 18 games in the AHL playoffs, in which he won the Calder Cup with Charlotte . He was the top scorer of the playoffs and played a significant role in winning the trophy for the first time. He himself was awarded the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as the most valuable player in the playoffs and was appointed to the AHL Second All-Star Team . After the season he was signed as a free agent by the Anaheim Ducks in July 2019 .
