Gottéron Bridge

The Gottéron Bridge (German actually Galtern Valley Bridge ) in Friborg in Üechtland in the Swiss canton of Friborg spans the Galtera Valley (French Gottéron) shortly before it flows into the Saane . The bridge connects the Freiburg district of Schönberg with the hamlet of Bürglen . The arch bridge from 1960 replaced the suspension bridge from 1842.

On May 9, 1919, an overloaded truck caused a partial collapse of the suspension bridge; the driver was killed.
