The 1994/95 season was the 59th regular season of the American Hockey League (AHL). During the regular season, the 16 teams in the league played 80 games each. The eight best teams from the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference then played in a play-off round for the Calder Cup .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Moncton Hawks stopped playing.
- The Springfield Falcons were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Hamilton Canucks were relocated to Syracuse , New York , and from then on played under the name Syracuse Crunch
- The Springfield Indians were relocated to Worcester , Massachusetts and from then on played under the name Worcester IceCats

Calder Cup play-offs
mode
The four best teams in each division qualified for the play-offs.
In the first two play-off rounds, the winners of the respective divisions were played. Of the three teams that were then still in the competition, the one with the most points in the regular season received a bye to the final. The first two play-off rounds and the final were played in best-of-seven mode. Only the semi-finals were played in best-of-three mode.
