Luke Bradley "Brad" Bombardir (born May 5, 1972 in Powell River , British Columbia ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and current official who played 372 games for the New Jersey Devils , Minnesota , in the course of his playing career between 1988 and 2004 Wild and Nashville Predators has played in the National Hockey League on the position of fullback . Bombardir celebrated his greatest career success in the service of the New Jersey Devils by winning the Stanley Cup in 2000 . Since summer 2010 he has been the Director of Player Development at the Minnesota Wild.
Career
Bombardir played in his youth with the Powell River Paper Kings in the British Columbia Junior Hockey League and on the University of North Dakota team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association .
His first professional station were the Albany River Rats in the American Hockey League . In the 1990 NHL Entry Draft , Bombardir was selected in the third round at a total of 56th position by the New Jersey Devils . However, he would play his first NHL game seven years later, during the 1997/98 season . In 2000 he was able to win the Stanley Cup with his team .
After this season he was transferred to Saint Paul to the Minnesota Wild on June 23, 2000 for Chris Terreri and a nine-round draft pick in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft . But success did not materialize and it was followed during the 2003/04 season, just before the transfer deadline, another change, this time to Tennessee to the Nashville Predators . Together with Sergejs Žoltoks , he moved in exchange for a third- and fourth-round draft pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft . However, the Predators had to admit defeat to the Detroit Red Wings in the first round of the playoffs .
During the lockouts of the 2004/05 NHL season , he was without a club. In 2005 he ran on in a game for the Springfield Falcons in the AHL. However, he had to end his career due to a knee injury sustained during his time in the AHL. Since summer 2010 he has been the Director of Player Development at the Minnesota Wild.
